Dr. Salgado is graduated from University of Chile, specializing in Ophthalmology at  P. Catholic University of Chile. He completed a Fellow in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Children`s Hospital Boston of Harvard University and a 2nd Fellow in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University.

He studied Biostatistical Methods in Scientific Research, obtained Diploma in Teaching in Medicine and a Master's degree in Health Administration.

He is Associate Professor,  Head of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Unit of the Department of Ophthalmology of Catholic University-Chile.

He is international member of  AAPOS,  NANOS, CPNO, CLADE, ISA and SOPLA .
